Rich Rodriguez is a second-year football head coach at U-M. He is the 18th coach in U-M football history, preceded by Lloyd Carr and only the 11th since Fielding Yost took over in 1901. Rodriguez came to Michigan when he was named head coach on December 17, 2007.

Michigan Stadium (1927- present) was the vision of Fielding Yost, and was designed to look like the Yale Bowl. ¾ of it is underground, due to the muddy ground where they were building it. Nickname: the Big House
